Want to vote absentee?  Here is what you need to do:

  1. Check your registration status here to make sure you are properly registered to vote.
  2. Print/Download and Sign Absentee Request Form here. If you don’t have a printer, you can request the town clerk to mail you the form.
  3. Choose how to return your application form. *** Note: Some towns only allow you to mail in your application form so check with your town clerk to see what options are available to you.***
    1. Digitally (email, if your town allows it)
    2. .Mail (requires a stamp).
    3. In-person (requires you to go to the town clerk in person).
  4. Turn in your absentee request form. Don’t forget to sign it and return to your town clerk as soon as possible.
  5. Check your mail for your ballot. Your ballot should arrive about 30 days before the election.
  6. Fill out your ballot. Cast your vote! Note: If you are voting by absentee ballot due to covid-19, check the “disability” box on the affidavit envelope.
  7. Sign and Seal. Fill out the ballot, place it in the inner affidavit envelop, sign the affidavit and then place that in the outer mailing envelope.
  8. Return your ballot. You can return your ballot by mail before election day, or you can drop your ballot off at your polling place the day of the election.
  9. Check the status of your ballot here. It can take time for the website to be updated after your absentee ballot has been received, but you can check the status of your absentee ballot online.
